Tonya began her studies in pianoforte in Russia from the age of 7 and graduated the State Music School. Following a bachelor degree in her home country, she continued her education in Music in the UK.

During her years on the PgDip in Performance course (2016-2018) at the University of Leeds, she studied with recording artist and concert pianist Jill Crossland, who was a student of Paul Badura-Skoda.  Parallel to this course, Tonya has also been enrolled on Continuous Education Course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. She was a student of another outstanding concert pianist and recording artist - Sinae Lee. 

Sinae Lee became Tonya's mentor for several years during the studies on the Masters of Education course at the RCS, which Tonya has graduated from in 2024.

Tonya's highlights in playing were her winning performance in the final round of the Chamber and Piano competition of Leeds University Union Music Society in 2017, with her interpretations of Debussy's works, as well as winning her category in the 8th International Competition 'Talents of Russia' in 2020 with her performance of Chopin's etude. 

In 2020 Tonya Clement  participated in the International Piano Competition 'Piano Bridges' in St. Petersburg, Russia in the category for professionally trained pianists,  which took place online during the pandemic. The recordings of her performance  were broadcasted in a concert of French music  the Public Library in Kronshtadt, St. Petersburg, in 2021. 

Tonya performed in solo concerts across the UK for various music societies, with the most memorable venues being Lincoln Cathedral and Inverness Town Hall.
